The farm I grew up on

The farm I grew up on is located on NC Hwy. 742 approximately 10 miles south of Oakboro, NC, some 14 miles North of Wadesboro, NC, and some 1.5 miles south of the small community of Burnsville. in Anson County, NC.

A small picture of the old farm I grew up on and the wood shed (for the winter heat) on the left side of the picture, and the old barn in the back where the cows came for milking twice daily, and we always fed the cows and our mule with hay, ground feed, and with running water to eat and drink; as the mule and all cows chose.

Missing is the hog parlor building where pigs where born by their mother sows, grew into hogs whereas a few were killed for food; sausage, bacon, pork chops, fat back, etc., or taken off to the market for additional family income.

The old house, if it were still standing, was built about 1860, has since been torn down.
